Pioneering Sustainable Safety: Protecting Lives at Work and Beyond

At The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), our vision is bold yet simple: an accident-free world. For over a century, we have uniquely pioneered safety initiatives that span far beyond the workplace. In today’s world, sustainability and the well-being of people form the cornerstone of any serious ESG commitment – if organizations truly value their workforce, it is imperative to ensure safety not only at work but in every aspect of life.

Becky Hickman, CEO, explores RoSPA’s unique approach to safety, emphasizing the importance of protecting individuals throughout their entire life journey—at work, home, at leisure, and on the road. Fostering a culture of safety outside of work can reinvigorate commitment to safety within the workplace, leading to lasting behavioral change and creating a safer, more sustainable world.

Becky became RoSPA’s first female CEO in 2024, bringing over 20 years of experience to the role. Under her leadership, RoSPA has revitalized its sales, marketing, and strategic partnerships, collaborating with industry giants like L’Oréal to cement its global influence in health and safety.

For more than 100 years RoSPA has been the charity which creates a safer society by preventing accidents. Working with and through their membership RoSPA leads the agenda, shapes policy, raises standards, and drives behavioral change.

Becky spearheads this mission via the prestigious RoSPA Awards, which attracts entrants from over 70 countries and has a reach of over seven million employees worldwide. Becky’s visionary approach ensures RoSPA’s enduring global impact and commitment to safety and innovation.
