Liz Horvath, CRSP, is an occupational health and safety professional with nearly 30 years of experience, specializing in psychological health and safety for the past 15 years. She is the Principal of Hale Health and Safety Solutions Ltd., where she helps organizations prevent harm, reduce burnout, and design work in ways that support both people and performance — particularly in high-pressure environments.
Liz’s background includes more than a decade working in high-pressure, unionized manufacturing environments, as well as six years leading a team of consultants within a national OHS legal practice. As a project manager with CSA Group, she led the development of several new national OHS standards, including the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace, and later contributed, in a volunteer capacity, to the second edition of the Standard. She has also served as a Senior Advisor in Psychological Health and Safety with the Mental Health Commission of Canada and is sought out for her expertise in OHS, PHS, and management systems integration.
Liz is known for a warm, practical, and prevention-focused approach that bridges operational realities with a deep understanding of people at work. She supports leaders in identifying psychosocial hazards, assessing risk, and clarifying expectations — while creating space for honest conversation about pressure, limits, and responsibility. As a speaker, she is recognized for her ability to connect with audiences, translate complex issues into accessible insight, and invite thoughtful reflection on topics many organizations find difficult to name but essential to address
